My friends forced me to watch the song of the south dvd the other night. We had gone bowling, and we were all doing some pretty strong trash talking. I had the lowest score, so they all decided on the proper punishment for me. We went to the video store and rented the movie (which surprised me because I thought it had been banned for some reason) and back to my friends house. And you know what? That movie turned out to be pretty good. I had never really watched it as an adult, so I never really understood the deep symbolism and metaphors that movie uses to make some powerfully moving points. Of course, all of us being tough guys couldn’t really discuss things like that, but I think they all really appreciated it as much as I did. Of course, nobody said anything, so we just took the movie back like nothing happened. But it really was a good experience.
